iLovePDF and iLoveSign are now available as Odoo modules

If your company runs on Odoo, a lot of your documents already live there. Quotes, invoices, purchase orders, contracts and HR files are all created, shared and stored inside the same platform.

But two jobs usually still happen somewhere else. Files get too heavy to send, so someone downloads them, compresses them in another tool and uploads them again. And when a document needs a signature, it often leaves Odoo entirely.

So we built four new modules to keep that work inside Odoo. iLovePDF for Odoo compresses PDFs directly from your records and the Documents app, and iLoveSign for Odoo lets you send documents for legally valid e-signature from the same place. They're free to install from the Odoo Apps Store and work with Odoo 16, 17, 18, and 19.

Odoo comes in two editions, and each of our products has a module built for each one. Here's the full lineup:

1. iLovePDF Community. PDF compression inside Odoo, connected to Sales and Invoicing.
2. iLovePDF Enterprise. Adds compression to the Odoo Documents app, including bulk compression.
3. iLoveSign Community. A dedicated iLoveSign app in Odoo for sending and tracking signature requests.

Why compression matters in Odoo

Heavy PDFs cause small problems all day. Email attachments bounce because they're over the size limit, customer portals load slowly and storage fills up faster than it should.

The iLovePDF module solves that with one click. It uses the same compression technology behind our Compress PDF tool, which reduces file size while keeping fonts, colors and images sharp and readable.

iLovePDF Community: what it does

Once installed, iLovePDF appears as its own app on your Odoo home screen, next to Sales, Invoicing and Contacts. From there you can:

Compress from your records. A compress button sits right next to each quotation and sales order in your Sales list, so you can shrink a document without opening it.

Compress files from your computer. Upload a PDF from your desktop and compress it as you import it into Odoo.

Track every compression in one place. The iLovePDF app keeps a list of every compressed file, with its creation date, name and status.

See the results. Each file shows its size before and after compression, plus the percentage it was reduced by. When it's ready, you can download it with one click.

Every compression moves through clear stages (Draft, File selected, Processing, Done or Failed), so you always know where a file is.

iLovePDF Enterprise: compression inside Odoo Documents

If you use Odoo Enterprise, the Enterprise module brings compression into the Documents app, where many teams keep contracts, invoices and scanned files.

Compress from the document viewer. Open any PDF in Documents and compress it without leaving the view.

Compress in bulk. Select several documents and compress them all at once, which is handy when you're cleaning up a folder or preparing files for archiving.

Check compression insights. Track status, file size reduction and key metrics so you can confirm results quickly.

The Enterprise module builds on the Community one, so both are installed together.

iLoveSign for Odoo: e-signatures inside your workflow

Why sign inside Odoo

A signature is often the last step before a deal closes, a supplier is onboarded or a new hire starts. When that step happens outside Odoo, someone has to export the file, send it, chase it and then upload the signed version back.

iLoveSign is our e-signature platform, and its Odoo modules keep that whole loop in one place. Quotes, purchase orders and HR documents can be sent, signed and stored without switching tools.

iLoveSign Community: what it does

iLoveSign Community adds a dedicated iLoveSign app to Odoo, with its own Signatures and Configuration menus. Here's what you can do with it:

Send signature requests in one click. From a record such as a contact, schedule an activity, choose Request signature with iLoveSign, upload the PDF and add a message for the signer.

Use reusable templates. Start from pre-approved contracts or forms to keep documents consistent and cut preparation time.

Follow progress in real time. Each request shows its status (Draft, Sent or Completed), and you can see whether a recipient has opened, signed or declined the document, all within the same record.

Send reminders. Nudge people who haven't signed yet, automatically or manually, so documents don't sit waiting.

Keep a full audit trail. Download a tamper-evident log of every access, signature and change for compliance reviews.

Download and archive. Retrieve the final, certificate-embedded PDF, and keep the original unsigned file for reference.

Signers receive an email, open the document and sign it in iLoveSign. They can also decline it if something isn't right, and that response is reflected back in Odoo.

iLoveSign Enterprise: iLoveSign inside Odoo Sign

Odoo Enterprise already includes Odoo Sign. The iLoveSign Enterprise module doesn't replace it. Instead, it lets you choose iLoveSign as the signing provider from within your existing Sign workflows.

Enable it per document. When you create a new signature request in Odoo Sign, a "Sign with iLoveSign" option lets you decide which documents go through iLoveSign.

Keep your usual options. Set a validity date, turn on reminders and prepare the document with Odoo Sign's familiar fields and editor.

Stay in sync. Document status and signer activity update automatically between Odoo and iLoveSign.

See progress at a glance. Indicators in kanban and form views show whether a document has been sent, viewed or signed.

Customize emails. Send notification emails that guide recipients through the signing process with clear instructions.

Get everything back automatically. Signed documents and audit logs sync back to Odoo, so your records stay complete.

Which module do I need?

I use Odoo Community and want to compress PDFs. Install iLovePDF Community. It works with Sales, Invoicing, and Discuss.

I use Odoo Enterprise and keep files in Documents. Install iLovePDF Enterprise. It requires iLovePDF Community, which installs alongside it.

I use Odoo Community and want e-signatures. Install iLoveSign Community. It only needs Discuss, so it fits almost any setup.

I use Odoo Enterprise and already work with Odoo Sign. Install iLoveSign Enterprise, which also installs iLoveSign Community, and pick iLoveSign as your provider for the documents you choose.

Do the modules work on Odoo Online and Odoo.sh? Yes. All four are available for Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise deployments.

Which Odoo versions are supported? Versions 16.0, 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0.

How to set up iLovePDF and iLoveSign in Odoo

Getting started is quick:

1. Find the module on the Odoo Apps Store, or search for "iLovePDF" or "iLoveSign" from the Apps menu inside Odoo.
2. Install it, along with the Community module if you're setting up an Enterprise one.
3. Open the new iLovePDF or iLoveSign app from your Odoo home screen and go to Configuration.
4. Paste your public key from your iLoveAPI developer account, the platform behind iLovePDF and iLoveSign automation.
5. Choose authorized users if you want to limit who can use the app. If you don't select anyone, everyone in your Odoo will have access.
6. Click Test Connection. Once you see the success message, save and you're ready to go.

Example workflows with iLovePDF and iLoveSign in Odoo

The modules work well on their own, and even better together. A few ideas:

Sales. A quote is confirmed, you compress the final PDF straight from the Sales list, then send it to the customer for signature with iLoveSign. You can track the status without leaving Odoo.

Purchasing. Send purchase orders to suppliers for signature and get the signed copy and audit trail back automatically.

HR. Send employment contracts and onboarding documents for signature from a reusable template, with automatic reminders if the new hire hasn't signed yet.

Finance. Compress invoices before emailing them, so attachments stay within size limits and load quickly for clients.

Document management. Clean up a Documents folder full of scanned contracts by compressing them all at once, saving storage without losing readability.

Part of a bigger automation story

Odoo is the newest place where you can use iLovePDF and iLoveSign without opening our website. It joins a growing list of ways to bring PDF tools into the software you already use.

The REST API. Developers can build PDF processing and e-signatures straight into their own apps with iLoveAPI, with libraries for PHP, Python, Node.js, .NET and Ruby.

Are the modules free to install? Yes. All four are listed as free on the Odoo Apps Store.

Do I need Odoo Enterprise? No. The Community modules work on Odoo Community. You only need Enterprise for the Enterprise modules, which connect to Documents and Odoo Sign.

Does iLoveSign Enterprise replace Odoo Sign? No. It works inside Odoo Sign, and you decide per document whether to send it through iLoveSign.

Do signers need to use Odoo? No. Signers get an email and sign the document in iLoveSign.

Does compression reduce quality? No, not noticeably. Files get smaller while fonts, colors and images stay sharp and readable.

Can I control who uses the modules? Yes. You can pick authorized users when you configure each app.
